Acrylics
Painting with acrylics is a happy experience for me. You have more time to speak to the paint, more time to think and plan your design. Bold and bright with so many colors to choose from, acrylics provide a pure saturation of color. Highlights are easily added when needed.
Watercolor
Watercolor is a challenge, a process of many contradictions. There are a multitude of things that must be considered, all at the same time: horizontal, vertical, unity, conflict, shape, value, color, temperature, dominance, and save those whites, on and on it goes.
Yosemite
Yosemite is an inspirational place. I am fortunate to have a home studio there. The subjects and moods are endless. Capturing the essence of Yosemite is a joy, and I love it.
Abstract
Abstracts look easy-breezy, but a successful abstract requires that all fundamentals come into play. Composition, shape, dominance, and value convey an artistic statement which captures the essence of the moment, place and feeling. I like to let my paint speak to me.

I am an American painter. I was born in Florida then moved to California in the 1960's. I love painting, and the world of art. My husband Tony and I live in Aptos, California, and also in Yosemite National Park.
My true joys in life are to visit with my fabulous family, paint, study art, visit art galleries, visit and talk to friends.
